Issuing a written order in the case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shehryar Afridi’s arrest under 3-MPO, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday directed Islamabad deputy commissioner (DC) to submit his reply in the case on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Babar Sattar wrote that the court had been informed that Afridi had been in police custody for the last 86 days. “The petitioner’s lawyer also told us that the arrest under 3-MPO for a period of 15 days is illegal and should be declared unlawful,” he said, and directed Islamabad DC to tell why the petitioner had been taken into custody under the MPO.
