Sindhi nationalist leaders Sanwal Anar and Uzair Kalhoro, along with 60 activists, have announced their departure from the Jiye Sindh Movement.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, this announcement was made during a press conference held in Larkana on Monday.
Sanwal Anar stated that they are now joining the national mainstream, expressing their disassociation from various nationalist organisations such as Joint Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM), and Jeay Sindh Students' Federation (JSSF).
He criticised the leadership of these organisations, accusing them of enjoying luxuries abroad while using their workers for negative propaganda against the country and the Pakistan Army.
The activists expressed their gratitude towards Pakistan, acknowledging the respect, rights, and recognition the country has provided them.
They urged the youth to focus on their education and play a positive role in the nation’s development, avoiding any involvement in conspiracies.
The leaders also assured the government and law enforcement agencies of their loyalty to the country, promising to remain dedicated to the nation.
Jeay Sindh Tahreek is an ethno-nationalist organisation that is working for the independence of Sindh. It began in the 1950s as a struggle against the One Unit policy, which aimed to merge the provinces of West Pakistan into a single entity.
After the Bangladesh debacle in 1971, the movement took a significant turn under the leadership of GM Syed.
In 1972, GM Syed founded the Jeay Sindh Tehreek (JST) and introduced the concept of "Sindhudesh," advocating for a separate homeland for the Sindhi people.
