Indian Singer Kumar Sanu's alleged song for former prime minister Imran Khan has been making rounds on Pakistan's social media platforms.
To make the record straight, Kumar Sanu took to Instagram and clarified his position over the so-called song associated with him in favor of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
Kumar Sanu said: “I want to clarify that I have never sung any song for Pakistan's former Prime Minister. The audio circulating on Facebook is not my voice—it has been created using AI.”
“Some people are trying to defame me, and that’s why I want to tell my fans that this news is fake a lie! This is a serious misuse of technology, and I urge the Government of India to take immediate action to prevent the abuse of AI and deepfake technology,” he urged.
The 1990s-era famed singer said: “Let's stop the spread of misinformation.”
The lyrics of the song reads: “Imran Khan ko azaad karaenge, wazir azam banayenge. Zulm ke khilaaf awaaz uthayenge, naya Pakistan hum banayenge. (We will free Imran Khan and make him the Prime Minister. We will raise our voices against injustice and form a new Pakistan.)”
The fake audio was dubbed over the song of Kumar Sanu singing 'Chori Chori Dil Tera' from the 1993 film 'Phool Aur Angaar' featuring 'Mithun Chakraborty' and Shantipriya.
