Following the decline in global oil prices, a proposal has been made to reduce petrol prices in Pakistan by Rs8.16 per litre, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to sources, the price of high-speed diesel is also expected to drop by Rs7.70 per litre. Additionally, there is a suggestion to decrease kerosene oil prices by Rs7.16 per litre and light diesel by Rs 4.49 per litre.
After the government's approval, the petrol price will drop from Rs269.43 per litre to Rs261.07 per litre. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel will decrease from Rs272.77 per litre to Rs265.07 per litre.
On July 31, amid public anger over inflation and electricity bills, the government reduced the price of diesel by Rs10.86 per litre and the price of petrol by Rs6.17 per litre.
The price of kerosene has also been reduced by Rs 6.32 per litre, while the price of light-speed diesel has also been reduced by Rs5.72 per litre.
