PDM resignations drive in full swing

The PPP Sindh lawmakers Saturday started summiting resignations to the party leadership following the directives by high-ups.
Reportedly, more than six dozen PPP lawmakers tendered their resignations. PPP parliamentarian including Muhammad Ali Malkani, Heer Soho, Mumtaz Ali, Mumtaz Hussain Jakhrani, Taj Muhammad, Mukesh Kumar, Awais Qadir Shah, Sohrab Khan Sarki, Jam Ikram, Mumtaz submitted the resignation on Saturday. Hassan Murtaza and Ali Haider Gillani have already submitted their resignations to the leadership.
Reports cited a spokesman for Bilawal House as saying that more than 70 lawmakers submitted the resignations while the some of the parliamentarians handed over their resignations to the district and provincial party heads.
The development took place after the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) meeting a few days ago. Maulana Fazlur Rehman chaired the meeting while ex-PM Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Zardari joined the meeting via video link.
Of PML-N, Rabia Nusrat, Zaibun Nisa Awan, Tahir Jamil, Irfan Aqeel, Muneebul Haq, Hina Pervez Butt, Bilal Akbar, Sania Ashiq, Chaudhry Bashir Virk, Chaudhry Azhar Qayyum Nahra, Khail Das Kohistani, Saiful Muluk Khokhar, Afzal Khokhar, Iftikhar Hussain Chhachar, Hamid Hameed, Sohaib Berth, Raheela Khadim Hussain, Uzma Bukhari, Aniza Fatima, Samiullah Khan, Farooq Tarar, Chaudhry Bilal Akbar, Chaudhry Adil Bakhsh Chatha, Jahangir Khanzada, Akhtar Hussain Badshah and Akhtar Memon submitted their resignation to the party high command.
The PDM leadership will tender resignations to the speakers of the national and provincial assemblies in due course of time.
