Rawalpindi grenade attack kills man, injures 17

A man was killed and 17 others injured in a twin grenade attack in Rawalpindi on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the TV channel, the grenade attack took place in front of the Ganj Baksh Police Station.

As per police, the wounded have been shifted to the DHQ Hospital where an emergency has been declared. Three of the injured people were in serious condition, the police added.

Rawalpindi CCPO Muhammad Ahsan Younus said two attackers riding a motorcycle threw two hand-grenades in front of the police station and fled away.

He said the police and bomb disposal squad are collecting evidence from the scene. "This is a terrorist incident but it would be premature to say anything else on it," he added.
