The federal government has decided to make new laws to end the trend of sale and purchase of vote in the Senate elections.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan said they are going to introduce new legislation to stop horse-trading in the senate.
He said they are going to legislate in consultation with the Election Commission of Pakistan and his ministry is also in touch with the commission too.
Awan said the Senate will be briefed on legislation on the sale and purchase of votes.
President Arif Alvi had sought the opinion of the Supreme Court through reference, and the Supreme Court ruled that the veil could be lifted from the vote if be needed, he added.
