The original affidavit of Rana Shamim, former top judge of the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) chief court, who had accused former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar of ordering denial of bails to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz, was finally received by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) registrar on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources in the court told 24News that the affidavit dispatched from London, was enclosed in DHL courier service’s envelope, and would be presented in the IHC on the next date of hearing of contempt of court case sub judice against Shamim and few others, including senior journalist Ansar Abbasi.
The case’s hearing is now due next Monday (December 20).
Sources disclosed that the registrar on receiving the affidavit put another stamp on it bearing words ‘confidential’ as well as ‘only the chief justice can see this’ in order to secure its ‘confidentiality’.
