Sindh Anti-corruption Department has declared assistant commissioner Mansoor Abbasi - who is in detention - a prime accused in the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway scandal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Sindh Anti-corruption Department Chairman Nawaz Sheikh said that the signatures on the cheques used for the withdrawal of money are of assistant commissioner Mansoor. He said that the department has contacted Interpol and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for the arrest of other accused. He informed that Naushahro Feroze deputy commissioner is on the run and will soon be arrested through Interpol.
Sindh Anti-corruption Department Chairman said that Rs 400 million have been recovered so far. He said that the regional manager of a local bank has been arrested as well. He said that the Mityari deputy commissioner has also been arrested, adding that six people were arrested from Naushahro Feroze.
He said that no political personality were found involved in the scandal.
