The 41st Lahore Ophthalmological Congress and the 7th Asia-Pacific Ophthalmic Trauma Society (APOTS) Conference drew to a close on Tuesday, offering a comprehensive platform for scientific exchange and advancements in the field of ophthalmology, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel. 


Hosted in Lahore, the event featured an impressive array of 96 scientific sessions, providing a rich landscape for professionals and researchers to delve into diverse topics within the realm of eye care.


The conference was attended by 45 international speakers as well as around 2,000 participants from around the world.


The event successfully brought together renowned international and Pakistani experts to share best practices, discuss cutting-edge research, and inspire the next generation of ophthalmologists. 


The Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan (OSP) Lahore Branch in collaboration with APOTS organized the three-day conference from 8th December. 


At least 36 sessions including original research articles, 8 conference halls specialized in Cataracts, Cataracts, Ocular Plastics, Strabismus, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Neuro-Ophthalmology, and Eye Injury were the salient features of the conference. Several research papers on optometry were read


Prof Naeem Ullah and Maj Gen Dr Mazhar Ishaq were awarded life time distinguished awards.


OSP Lahore President Prof. Muhammad Moin and Secretary Prof. Hussain Khaqan hosted the international conference.


Distinguished guests including Health Minister Javed Akram, Secretary Ali Jan Khan, Prof Muhammad Latif Chaudhry (retd) and Prof Abdul Jalil Doula attended as chief guest.
