An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on Friday granted bails to three teenaged boys including one who came from Islamabad who were arrested during PTI’s recent protest march in the federal capital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court approved the bail of 14-year-old Afghan boy namely Sayam who was arrested during PTI’s D-Chowk protest.

The ATC judge ordered boy’s release after obtaining surety bonds worth Rs10,000.

ATC Judge Abdul Hasanat Zulqarnain conducted hearing of the case. Advocate Agha Syed Faisal appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner.

During the hearing, he argued that the boy had arrived in Islamabad along with his mother for getting medical treatment from Afghanistan on October 21, 2024.

He further informed the court that his client was picked up from his residence in Shahzad Town in a case filed against him at Secretariat Police Station.

The judge expressed his displeasure for non-availability of relevant record of the case. He sought all the record of the cases and observed that other bail petitions were also related to that record.

On this occasion prosecutor Raja Naveed informed the court that police will submit entire record of all cases within half an hour.

The ATC judge also approved bail applications of two other teenaged boys who were arrested from the D-Chowk.

Their counsel Wali Khan informed the court accused Shahzad Khan was 17 and a half years old while Samandar Khan was 16 years old. He claimed that both the children were picked up from their houses and a case was lodged against them at Secretariat Police Station.

The judge ordered their release after approving their bails for Rs10,000 surety bond each.
