A 32-member delegation of Sikh yatrees from the United States and different European countries visited Gurdwara Bhai Bannu in Mangat area of Mandi Bahauddin on Thursday.
The Gurdwara was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh 200 years back in 1802.
The delegation also visited memorials of Sikhs and British in Chillianwala, where British General Gough and Sikh General Sher Singh fought the battle of Chillianwala.
In Mangat, Sikh yatrees mingled with local elderly persons and refreshed their sweet pre-partition memories. The citizens of Mangat warmly welcomed the Sikh delegation.
During visit to Gurdwara Bhai Bannu, the yatrees appreciated architecture of the gurdwara and beauty. They also went to the pool behind the gurdwara to recall their old accounts.
Sikhs used the pool for Ashnan as part of their worship.
They also praised Prime Minister Imran Khan for construction of Kartarpura corridor, facilitate the visa-free entry of yatrees from Indian side to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, the resting place of Sikhism founder Baba Guru Nanak Jee. They also demanded renovation of Gurdwara Bhai Bannu.
In Chillianwala, the visiting Sikh yatrees were briefed on historic significance of the monuments. Foolproof security arrangements were made by the district police on the occasion.
