Late onslaught powers Zalmi to 193-6 against Karachi Kings

Peshawar Zalmi posted a mounting target of 194 for Karachi Kings in the 19th match of the seventh edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Batting first after losing the toss, Zalmi batters Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Haris opened for the side, both managed to put a solid partnership for Zalmi of 97. Zazai scored 52 runs off 42 deliveries, clobbered six fours and one sixes. Mohammad Haris scored 49 runs off 27 balls, hammered four sixes and three fours. Shoaib Malik (31 off 21; three fours) and Ben Cutting (26 off 15; four boundaries) made healthy contributions to the Zalmi scorecard.

For Karachi Kings, Chirs Jordan bagged three wickets, conceding 41 runs. While, Mohammad Nabi, Umaid Asif and Qasim Akram took a scalp each.

Karachi Kings who are at the bottom of the table, they played 5 and lost 5 and will definitely want to win the remaining matches to keep their some hope for the playoff.

On the other hand their opponent Peshawar Zalmi position are slightly better, they won 2 out of 6.

So far both the teams have played 16 matches in the PSL between them and Peshawar Zalmi has the upper hand with 11 win and Karachi Kings won 5.

Karachi Kings team: Sharjeel Khan, *Babar Azam, +Joe Clarke, Ian Cockbain, Mohammad Nabi, Sahibzada Farhan, Qasim Akram, Imad Wasim, Chris Jordan, Umaid Asif, Aamer Yamin.

Peshawar Zalmi team: Hazratullah Zazai, +Mohammad Haris, Haider Ali, Liam Livingstone, Shoaib Malik, Sherfane Rutherford, Ben Cutting, Amad Butt, *Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Umar, Saman Irshad.

On the scoreboard, the Karachi Kings are on the last position among six teams while Multan Sultans is on the top. Zalmi is at the fifth position. 

In the second match, Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators will play against each other. Qalandars retained second position on the points table while Gladiators are at the fourth position.

More than 8,000 police personnel are deployed to guard the PSL matches. Lahore CCPO Fayyaz Ahmed Dio has directed for full proof security to the fans and the playing teams. 

Islamabad United which lost the nail-biting contest against Quetta Gladiators yesterday is at the fourth position.
