President Arif Alvi will not be able to take oath from the newly-elected prime minister, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the TV channel, the newly-elected members of the National Assembly will take oath on February 26. Then they will elect a leader of the house.
The voting to elect a new president will be held immediately after the election of the prime minister. So President Arif Alvi will not have the honour to administer oath to the new prime minister.
The elections of the new president, Senate chairman and deputy chairman would have to be completed by March 8.
It is worth reminding here that President Alvi, who belongs to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), had refused to take oath from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after his party was ousted from power through a no-trust vote in April 2022.
