Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that peaceful protest was basic human right of everyone but no one will be allowed to take law in hand, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to the media after inaugurating the Medical Store Depot warehouse in Gulberg area of Lahore on Monday, CM Naqvi said attempts were made to repeat incidents like May 9, but he warned that the government will now respond with full force of the law against such incidents.
The CM said if there were any objection to the election results or the process, political leaders or parties should approach the Election Commission of Pakistan.
He warned that if violent protests were attempted again, strict action will be taken against the culprits.
The CM advised the public to be aware of such actions. He said the government doesn't want such incidents to happen.
Mohsen Naqvi said shutting down the internet and mobile service was the decision of the federal government. He said Pakistan needs a stable and sustainable government for development and prosperity of the people.
