100 spectators allowed for PSL 7 matches in Lahore

January 13, 2022 04:14 PM

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after a meeting with National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has allowed 100 percent spectators’ capacity for the PSL 7 matches to be played in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

However, the PCB will meet again with the NCOC officials on January 17 to finalize the strategy for the PSL matches in Karachi amid COVID-19 spread fears.

A PCB spokesperson on Thursday said that the first leg of 15 matches will be played in Karachi from Jan 27 to Feb 7 despite a spike in COVID-19 cases in Karachi, while the remaining 19 matches will be played in Lahore from Feb 10-27.

The PCB, however, has laid some rules for spectators in a bid to prevent spread of the Covid-19.

Spectators show little interest in buying tickets

On the other hand, spectators and fans show little interest in buying PSL tickets and a vast quantity of the PSL matches tickets are still on sale despite 40 hours passed since ticket sales go online.

Earlier, tickets for the Karachi and Lahore legs of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) were up for sale on cricket.bookme.pk, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement on Tuesday.

PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja earlier in his press talks vowed to chalk our strategies to make PSL profitable and to attract the fans amid security concerns and COVID-19 spread fears.

Ramiz Raja said the mobility of the fans and from far parking lots to stadiums have been prime reasons along with the COVID-19 concerns.

Ramiz had said that PCB will also ‘launch’ on-site ticket purchasing facilities for the fans in a bid to create more options for the fans, for tickets purchasing.
