Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) has released monthly sales data of the automobile industry for the month of December 2021, according to which, sales of cars has increased by 96 percent in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The data shows that the automobile industry has witnessed an impressive across-the-board sales performance except for the Bus and Motorcycle segments.
In December, 27,331 units of cars were sold as compared to 13,956 recorded during the same month of the last year.
According to the data, during December 2021, car sales increased by 46 percent in a single month compared to November 2021.
It is the highest ever car sales in a month before the proposed increase in prices through the mini-budget.
Suzuki's sales surged by 82 percent in December from November.
Honda car sales recorded a 56 percent increase in December compared to November.
Moreover, Indus Motor car sales down 2 percent in December compared to November.
In the six months of the current financial year, car sales have increased by 70 percent.
Meanwhile, motorcycle sales decreased by 10 percent in December 2021 as compared to December 2020.
In the six months of the current financial year, sales of motorcycles increased by 18 percent.
Furthermore, as compared to December 2020, truck sales fell by 2 percent and bus sales by 37 percent in December 2021.
Sales of trucks and buses have increased by 57 percent in the first six months of the current financial year.
