Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday expressed concern over the likely increase in the petroleum products’ (POL) prices in three days from now, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a statement, he expressed the fear that hike in POL prices by Rs6 per liter would not only further increase the prices of items of daily use, but there were chances that petrol might also be stocked.
“I urge the government to take steps to prevent petrol from being stocked,” Shehbaz said, and added it was the government’s responsibility to protect the rights of consumers. “And in case, petrol shortage occurs, it will be the government alone which is to blame,” he stated categorically.
“Every day there is an incident, which shows the absence of a government in the country,” he regretted.
