Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Babar Azam and head coach Inzamam-ul-Haq Monday shared insights into their strategy, player retention, and future prospects, reported 214NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference, Inzamam-ul-Haq expressed confidence in rising star Saim Ayub’s capabilities. “Saim Ayub will be in better form by the Champions Trophy and will also showcase his skills during the PSL,” said Inzamam.
Babar Azam discussed the team’s approach to player retention, emphasizing the importance of securing skilled players. “When you retain players, you have the option to bring in the best talent,” he explained. He also mentioned their interest in acquiring Amir Jamal but noted that another team picked him first.
Addressing his role in the team, Babar remarked, “I cannot say at this point which position I will play. A good team is not made up of big names but by players who are fighters.”
He reiterated his dedication to playing quality cricket, stating, “Since I started playing cricket, I have always tried to give my best.”
When asked about his future, Babar said, “So far, everything is fine, but I cannot predict what lies ahead.
Currently, I am playing for Peshawar Zalmi and will continue to represent them.”
