The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formally reached out to National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, requesting him to convene the third round of negotiations between the government and PTI committees.
According to 24NewsHD TV Channel, PTI has asked for the meeting to be scheduled soon, with a proposal suggesting January 15 as the date for the talks to take place in the National Assembly.
Responding to the request, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq assured the opposition party that the third session of talks would be convened within the week.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, PTI leader Barrister Salman Akram Raja stated that the dialogue between the government and PTI had not stalled.
“I have heard that the third round will be held on January 15,” he said.
Raja dismissed rumours that PTI was pursuing negotiations for a deal, emphasising, “The purpose of the dialogue is to ensure democracy and justice in the country.”
