PML-N candidate for by-election in PP-224 Lodhran has been heavily fined for violating election code on conduct, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The District Monitoring Officer has slapped Rs40,000 fine on PML-N’s Zawar Hussain after declaring his explanation unsatisfactory for inviting a government minister to his election campaign.

Zawar Hussain had invited Punjab Home Minister Abdur Rahman Kanju to one of his by-election ceremony for which the District Monitoring Officer sought explanation, which was recorded on July 12.

After finding the explanation unsatisfactory, the officer slapped a fine of Rs40,000 on Zawar Hussain, declaring that joining any election campaign by public officeholders is a violation of the election code of conduct.
