The family who lost a man and his son after falling into a lidless manhole in Islamabad staged a sit-in on Wednesday and refused to bury the dead bodies, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to reports, the bereaved family members along with the locals staged a protest demonstration at IJP Road along with the dead bodies.
The demonstrators blocked the road leading to Islamabad which caused severe problems for commuters.
The protesters said that they will not bury the dead bodies of their loved ones until they get justice.
They held CDA's Civil Management and Sanitation and Maintenance Directorate responsible for the upkeep of manholes. The relatives raised slogans against CDA and MCI.
They alleged that despite the call to Rescue 1122, the emergency services arrived late. “Rescue 1122 arrived an hour late which led to the deaths,” the relatives said.
The protest was called off after talks by the administration.
