PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that today is a big day for the democratic forces in Pakistan and for PTI workers as SC has endorsed the PTI point of view in special seats case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference with PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz, Barrister Gohar said that the SC decision will strengthen democracy as the decision was based on the constitution.
He said PTI held intra-party elections in 2022, 2023 and 2024, which were declared null and void by the Election Commission on the grounds of bad faith. He said today the Supreme Court gave the decision that Tehreek-e-Insaf was a party and PTI has issued party tickets across the country but he added that tickets were taken away from PTI representatives. He said, “We submitted 780 pages of documents to the Election Commission”.
Barrister Gohar demanded that after this decision, the Election Commission should issue certificates for PTI. He said PTI will submit the documents of all the candidates to the Election Commission as per the decision of the Supreme Court on Monday or Tuesday. Gohar hoped that the Election Commission will implement the decision in letter and spirit.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub said that he congratulated the entire nation for this historic decision.
Omar Ayub said the PTI founder has repeatedly said that the supremacy of the constitution is essential and the same was the importance of justice as Imran Khan has laid special emphasis on justice.
