Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday claimed that 10 kilo bag of flour was available at the country’s utility stores at Rs400, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, she went on to claim that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), too, flour was being sold at the same rate. “Now after launching the ‘Sasta Ata’ scheme, ‘Sasta Ghee’ scheme has also been launched,” she informed.
She alleged that people were forced to buy flour of a poor quality from the utility stores under the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government. “One must not forget that the price of one kilo of flour, which was Rs35 when last time Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was in power, rose to Rs90 under the PTI government,” she added.
Marriyum said that 500 more sale points would be set up in the country in days to come in order to cater to the requirements of people.
She was of the view that former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s assertion that had in remained in power, Pakistan would have purchased oil from Russia at cheaper rates, was merely a figment of his imagination.
