The Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi has postponed the budget session for tomorrow to meet again at 1:00 pm, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The session started six hours behind schedule as the opposition PTI raised the demand for quashing the cases against its lawmakers and seeking an apology from the top cop for police mishandling of senior members. The session was scheduled to be held at 2:00 pm.

The assembly resumed its proceedings for a few minutes with Speaker Parvez Elahi in the chair. The session had a 10-minute break after the chair issued directives to oust Attaullah Tarar from the house.
The speaker stressed that the atmosphere will not be conducive if Attaullah Tarrar does not leave the house. The government member sprang into action to defend Attaullah Tarrar, causing the 10-minute break to extend to almost an hour.

The session resumed again but the police and the secretary concerned did not appear in the assembly.
The speaker put off the session and gave the ruling that the budget would be present till the officials concerned are not present.
Also, the absence of the top cop and chief secretary concerned irked the PTI lawmakers who have been calling for an apology for manhandling their colleagues and registration of cases against them.
