A meeting of the parliamentary party of the ruling PML-N has recommended an increase of 25% in the salaries of the federal government employees of grade 1 to 16, reported 24NewsHD TV channel, quoting its sources.
According to the sources, it was also recommended that the salaries of government employees of grade 17 to 22 should be raised by 20 percent.
The sources further said these recommendations were forwarded to the federal cabinet meeting for approval.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired the meeting of PML-N parliamentary party which was held at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Wednesday.
