The PML-N on Friday suspended the basic party membership of the six MPAs who had met Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
The party has issued show-cause notices to the lawmakers and sought a reply within seven days.
On Wednesday, Hamza Shehbaz, the party’s provincial head, had promised strict action against these.
He said the PML-N didn’t comprise on the rented people and everything would become clearer when elections were held.
Similarly, senior PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal described the rebelled MPAs as old turncoats (lotas).
Talking to media persons, Ahsan said they should tender resignation. The leadership of the PML-N’s Punjab chapter will take necessary action against them, he added.
Meanwhile, Uzma Bokhari, one of the most active PML-N leaders, in a video message shared by party workers on Twitter, too called for de-seating the MPAs.
On the other hand, Nishat Ahmed Daha, who was among those visiting the Punjab chief minister, said no one could expel them from the party.
On Tuesday, some MPAs of PML-N and PPP from Punjab had met Buzdar as they expressed their full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Buzdar.
Announcing their unconditional support, they assured the chief minister of remaining allied with the government.
Speaking on the occasion, Buzdar said the government would give respect to them as the public issues were to be resolved on an urgent basis.
