Former Afghan prime minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar has said that the United States will be forced to withdraw from Afghanistan and the jihad of the Afghans will be successful, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a reception during his visit to Mansoora, the headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami in Lahore on Saturday, Hekmatyar informed the participants that peace conferences are being held in Turkey and Moscow and representatives of political parties will also attend them.

Gulbuddin Hekmatyar visited Mansoora and met with JI Amir Senator Sirajul Haq and discussed various issues including the overall situation in Afghanistan and the region. Prof Ibrahim, Ameer-ul-Azeem, Shabbir Ahmad Khan and Asif Luqman Qazi also attended the meeting.

It may be recalled that Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, an Afghan politician and former Mujahideen leader who is the founder and current leader of the Hezb-e-Islami, has twice served as Prime Minister of Afghanistan during the 1990s.

He further said that Soviet Union was defeated in Afghanistan and today there is no existence of Soviet Union on the world map.

The Afghan leader said the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has also conceded defeat and is looking for a way out from Afghanistan with dignity and the United States is in a hurry to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan.

“America has decided to establish an acceptable government as per the wishes of the people of Afghanistan instead of a puppet government in Afghanistan,” Hekmatyar said.

He vowed that the day is not far when Afghanistan will be free from war and he expressed the hope that the sacrifices made in Afghanistan will not go in vain. He said, “We celebrated the defeat of Russia and so we will celebrate the defeat of the United States as well.”
