Spokesperson for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Sunday that if Prime Minister Imran Khan was so sure that his numbers were complete then why he was barring his members of the National Assembly (MNAs) from visiting the assembly on the day the no-confidence motion had to be tabled against him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“It is an act of high treason since it is laid down under article 6 of the constitution,” she opined.

She further said that under article 17, no citizen, whether member of parliament (MP) or an ordinary person could be asked not to participate in politics. “Participating in political activities and giving his or her opinion is the fundamental right of an MP,” she added.

She claimed that not only the MNAs would turn up on the big day, but would also vote for the no-trust move.

Marriyum underscored the fact that the right of bringing no-confidence motion against the government was guaranteed by the constitution, and any attempt to stop the MNAs was a breach of the constitution.
