As the day for voting on the opposition’s no-trust motion is approaching and political temperature is heating up, former Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan on Sunday telephoned Chaudhrys of Gujrat and had a detailed discussion with them on the country’s prevailing political situation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Former Sindh governor expressed the hope that whatever decision Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi take on the motion would be in the country’s interests.
“It is in everybody’s knowledge that you (Chaudhrys) have an important place in Pakistani politics. Therefore, whatever decision you take today; either to support or oppose the no-confidence motion, will have a significant impact on the course the country’s politics is to take in days to come,” Ibad said, adding the country was facing several crises, including that of the economy. “So, therefore, there is a greater need to make wise decisions,” he emphasized.
In response, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that he and his party, PML-Q, had an eye on the present situation, and the time had come for some important decisions to make.
