Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar Monday stopped all government officers from the usage of luxury vehicles.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the finance minister chaired the second meeting of the austerity committee in Islamabad on Monday.
The Ministry of Finance officials briefed the meeting that many government officers are violating the austerity policy by using vehicles of more than 1800 cc.
Taking serious notice of the matter, the finance minister said austerity measures should be strictly implemented
He directed the Cabinet Division to take back the vehicles from the officers within three days.
He also gave the task to the Ministry of Law of implementing austerity measures in the High Judiciary.
The Ministry of Law has also been given the task of implementing austerity measures in the Senate and the National Assembly as well.
Ishaq Dar also instructed the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination to implement austerity measures in the provinces as well.
