The Islamabad High Court has thrown out the appeals of the convicts in Noor Mukadam murder case, upholding death sentence of chief convict Zahir Jaffer, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Pronouncing its verdict on Monday, the court also rejected the appeals of Zahir Jaffer’s parents, and the appeals of the two co-accused Muhammad Iftikhar and Jan Muhammad.

A two-member IHC divisional bench, comprising Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan, announced the verdict which was reserved on December 21, 2022.

The IHC reserved a verdict in the high-profile murder case in which the prime accused, Jaffer, was sentenced to death after a long-drawn-out trial of over four months.

The trial court awarded a death sentence to Jaffer in February 2002, while Jan Muhammad and Muhammad Iftikhar — the gardener and security guard at Jaffer's house — were awarded 10 years of imprisonment each.
