National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has announced nationwide painting and photography competition for students above 18 years of age aiming to create disaster awareness among young generation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
A disaster-proof model competition will be organized for engineering students and students can submit their artwork by March 25.
The expo will be held on April 23-25 in Islamabad.
The results will be announced at Pakistan's first International Disaster Risk Reduction Expo.
The competition topics and conditions are available on NDMA's social media handles.
A prize of Rs100000 will be given for the first position, Rs75, 000 for the second position while cash prizes up to Rs50, 000 will be given to the third position.
Delegations of organizations related to disaster management from 44 countries will participate in the international exhibition.
Shanghai Cooperation Organization and SAARC countries will also participate in the international exhibition.
Disaster risk awareness, preparedness and research will be promoted through the international exhibition.
The international exhibition will play an important role in publicizing NDMA in disaster prevention and early preparedness.
