The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday directed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to submit to it a report on the legal protection provided to journalists and media personnel in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

IHC Chief Justice Justice Athar Minallah heard the petitions filed by Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and High Court Journalists Association in which they had raised the issues confronting journalists in the country, including their job security and implementation on the Wage Board Award.

The court then adjourned hearing of the case until June 17th.
