Senior Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Shireen Mazari said Friday that the poor financial condition of the country was no secret, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference, she said it was in everybody’s knowledge that the US dollar’s rate was now sky-high.
“Look at inflation that shows no sign of relenting, while further increase in petrol price is on the cards,” she said, adding that lot of noise was created when former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan had visited Russia despite the fact that he had gone there to purchase cheaper wheat and oil, and that, too, after seeking the ‘consent of the ‘establishment’.
She was of the view that the US conspiracy against the PTI government had started on that very day, former PM Imran had said, “Absolutely Not.”
She asked those refusing to admit that a ‘conspiracy’ was behind the PTI government’s ouster to look at the record.
“No conspiracy against a country can ever succeed unless there is a support from within that country,” she said, added, “Now the ISI DG is on a visit to the USA. Has he gone there to discuss giving air bases to the superpower, which Imran had refused?”
She wondered as to how on earth the Supreme Court could order convening the National Assembly’s session for voting on the no-trust motion. “All this was part of the plot to show the PTI government the door,” the PTI leader, and added, “But the entire nation is standing by Imran firm like a rock and will come out on roads once he gives call for the long march.”
Shireen regretted that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz, who was a liar, was now being provided foolproof security, while Imran, the ex-premier, had been deprived of it.
She accused Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of pressuring the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to stop investigating the money laundering cases against him and his son, Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.
Arguing that Article 63-A of the constitution applied to those members of the parliament (MPs) who deserted their parties in times of crisis, PTI leader renewed her party’s demand for the chief election commissioner’s resignation, saying the party did not trust him at all.
She also dared Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah to stop PTI workers and activists from marching on Islamabad. “Who are you to threaten us when you are yourself a murderer?” she questioned.
Shireen also lashed out at the resumption of trade with India as announced by the government. “How can you restore trade links with the country where the Muslims are being persecuted?” she questioned.
She went on to say that the nation wanted the government to clarify as to why a PTV employee had gone to Israel.
