PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz on Friday said judges like late Justice Waqar Seth would be remembered forever as they never bowed down before dictatorship, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a mammoth rally at Grassy Ground in Saidu Sharif, Maryam Nawaz said Interior Minister Ijaz Shah was issuing threats with a warning that they would too face an ending like that of the ANP leaders.
Listing the sacrifices given by the Bilour family, she said the interior minister should be ashamed of himself. What kind of message was given to the world, Maryam wondered.
“They say what the narrative of Nawaz Sharif is. Nawaz Sharif’s narrative is the one whose two speeches have shattered you,” Maryam remarked. “This bogus government is buried under the narrative of Nawaz Sharif.”
The only solution to the country’s problems was the removal of the PTI government and holding fresh elections, she told her charged supporters.
She asked the institutions to stop backing the Imran government. “We do not want a clash with the institutions. And the institutions too should realise that they do not clash with the masses.”
Citing a source, the PML-N leader claimed that they had been forced to rethink their rigging plans in Gilgit-Baltistan after the huge rallies she held in her recent election campaign.
According to Maryam, they were saying that the PML-N would get two or three seats. But they are now forced to say that seven or eight seats have to be given to the party.
Rigging or no rigging, they would regret anyway, she said, addressing the rivals directly albeit without naming them.
Terrorism was again spreading its tentacles, said the PML-N leader and reminded the crowd that how the then prime minister Nawaz Sharif had taken every into confidence at a time when Pakistan was divided on the issue.
Maryam thanked the party supporters for forcing the leadership to stick to the narrative. Someone told her in Gilgit-Baltistan that they were ready to back the PML-N forever on a condition that they would not backtrack, she said, adding that the 220 million were carrying Nawaz Sharif’s narrative.
Inflation, dollar and the prices of flour, sugar and medicines, everything was out of control, said Maryam about the PTI government’s performance. “It is better to hide your face in Bani Gala [than being in the government].”
In his welcoming speech, PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Engineer Amir Muqam promised that he would always stand by his political opinion as he had already escaped death seven times. He was referring to the repeated attacks carried out by Taliban and other extremists against him.
Amir Muqam asked Prime Minister Imran Khan he should ponder upon his inability to fill the same venue despite using all the state machinery for the purpose.
