Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry Saturday sorted out the issue between fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) anchor Dr Nauman Niaz, in which the national TV anchor apologized to the Rawalpindi Express, reported 24NewsHD TV.
Fawad invited Shoaib Akthar and Nauman Niaz at his residence and tried to thaw ties between the two.
Fawad took to the Twitter and posted a photo of him alongside Shoaib and Dr Nauman. He wrote: “All is well that ends well”.
Meanwhile, Shoaib Akhtar accepted the apology of Dr Nauman in the following words. He wrote: “It was an unpleasant incident on national television and it had hurt my sentiments, that’s why it took me a while. Taking a higher moral ground, I am accepting the apology of @DrNaumanNiaz. Let’s move on from this.”
Earlier, Dr. Nauman Niaz had shown rudeness with Shoaib Akhtar in front of foreign superstars in a sports programme on state TV, on which Shoaib Akhtar announced to leave the programme on air and announced his resignation.
However, later, PTV host Dr Nauman Niaz has apologized to former national team fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar for their on-air clash during a show.
Dr Nauman Niaz said in his statement: “The response to the programme on air was justified, whatever the reason, I had no right to do all this on air, it was my fault, I was at fault. I apologize not once but thousands of times. Shoaib Akhtar is a star. I love his cricket.”
