Renowned TV actor Sohail Asghar passes away in Lahore

Renowned stage and TV artist Sohail Asghar passed away in Lahore on Saturday after a prolonged illness, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Widow of the deceased actor told media men that Sohail Asghar’s funeral prayers will be offered on Sunday after Asr prayers in Bahria Town. 

She said that Sohail underwent a large intestinal surgery in May 2020 and was not well since then. He was hospitalized a week ago and passed away today. 

A Pakistan’s TV, film and theatre actor, Sohail Asghar was born in Lahore and after completion of his education he joined Radio Pakistan. 

Sohail worked as Radio Jockey (RJ) from 1978 to 1988 and later got a change to work in TV drama Raat by PTV Lahore director Nusrat Thakur. 

He appeared in his first movie named ‘Murad’ in 2003 and overall worked in three films.  

Sohail got award for Outstanding Performance at 1st Indus Drama Awards for film Murad and best actor award for the year 2002 at 12th PTV Awards show organized to mark 40 years of PTV.

He was famous for his outstanding performance as an actor in TV serials: Khafa Khafa Zindagi (2018), Teri Meri Love Story (2016), Aap ki Kaneez (2014), Aashti (2009), Laag (TV series) as Kaku Lala (1998), Khwahish as Ruliya, Piyas, Chand Grehn, Kajal Ghar and Khuda Ki Basti.
