At least 14 people died and 12 went missing as a bus carrying wedding guests fell into a river near a river near Thalchi Bridge in Gilgit on Tuesday, 24NewsHD HD TV channel reported.
The bus was moving from Astor to Rawalpindi when it had the tragedy. Speeding is cited as the reason for the accident.
Police and rescuers reached the sport. A total of bodies were recovered till the filling of this report.
Top officials from the district admin and police also made it to the scene. Five local divers took part in the search operation.
Three teams of Rescue 1122 will continue the search by tomorrow at different areas.
Pak Navy divers are likely to join the search operations.
The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan expressed grief over the accident, a GB government spokesperson said.
The chief minister has directed to speed up the rescue operation.
