A senior advocate of the Supreme Court, Riaz Hanif Rahi, has lodged a complaint with the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) against Ms Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), alleging misconduct and requesting her removal from office.
The complaint alleges that Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz committed misconduct by failing to address key arguments in a public interest case involving citizens' right of access to the Red Zone in Islamabad, according to the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The advocate alleged that, instead of hearing his stance when he appeared before the judge in the courtroom, Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz gave unrelated remarks, disregarding his submissions.
The advocate further argued that Justice Saman Rafat’s actions constitute a violation of her oath under Article 209 of the Constitution, urging the SJC to initiate an inquiry and remove her from office if found guilty of misconduct.
