A big opportunity for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to get the ban imposed on Pakistani airlines’ flights, including those of the PIA, to the European countries lifted, a highly important meeting of the European Air Safety Committee will be held in Brussels on November 19 to discuss the issue, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Four years ago, the flights operation of the country’s airlines to different destinations in Europe had come to a halt after an irresponsible statement made by a minister in the last PTI government regarding pilots’ licenses had prompted the European governments to bar flights from Pakistan from entering their countries’ airspace.

Sources told 24News that all aviation members of the European countries, including those of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the European Commission, would attend the meeting.

The CAA delegation would also be in attendance, they said, adding that the Authority had drawn up a plan to get the flights operation from Pakistan to Europe restored, and that they would present the plan at the meeting.

Sources further said there were chances of the resumption of the flights operation.
