Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked websites that spread profane and obscene content, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to the TV report, PTA is taking various measures to block profane and indecent content. So far, PTA has blocked 100,183 obscene URLs and 844,008 websites.

Moreover, PTA is taking strict action against websites that spread profane and immoral content on social media.

The PTA is also blocking websites that are reported by citizens and government organizations.

It is very unfortunate that every day around 20 million attempts are made to access pornographic websites from across the country which are blocked at international gateways.

Usually, users used VPNs to access these websites blocked on international gateways.

PTA is taking all necessary steps to effectively block this content and is fully committed to curb this problem.
