The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department is now accepting applications for vanity plates from the vehicle owners who want to buy numbers of their choice.
On the first day on Tuesday, the Excise Department received 60 applications for vanity plates. Vehicle owners interested in vanity plates can submit their applications through eauction app by visiting the vanity plate portal.
Excise Director General Umar Sher Chattha said the department has received 57 applications in the Platinum Category and three applications in the Gold Category. He said the department has not received any application so far in the Corporate Category. He said the 8 alphabets plus numbers vanity plate in the Platinum Category will cost the buyer Rs5 million, while the 6 alphabets plus numbers vanity plate in the Gold Category will cost Rs500,000.
He said that national and international companies can take part in the vanity plates auction process by depositing Rs10 million each. He said that applicants will submit numbers of their choice through eauction and then deposit the fee within three days. He said a scrutiny committee will approve these numbers and then they will be added to the eauction. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will inaugurate the first eauction and then number plates will be distributed to the buyers.
