Pollution is no longer an issue confined to Lahore alone as it has reached as far as Islamabad where the air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 210 on Wednesday, making the city hazardous for people’s health, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The AQI in the city was 26.9 per cent more than the guideline set by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Doctors advised asthma patients in particular to wear facemasks in order to prevent exposure to smog.
Light rain predicted
The Met Office forecast partly conditions for the city and its suburbs with chances of light rain in the next 24 hours, which would bring respite for people from dry weather.
