Police to get Rs5m reward for arresting gang-rape accused

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday announced Rs5 million reward for the investigation team of Punjab Police who arrested Abid Malhi, the prime accused in Lahore-Sialkot Motorway gang-rape incident, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Usman Buzdar said all the accused involved in the high-profile cases have been arrested and for this, he had congratulated IGP Inam Ghani.
The chief minister said, “Yesterday in a brief press release Punjab police gave all the details and I must congratulate them. I am announcing five million rupees for the investigation team in Sialkot-Lahore Motorway gang-rape incident.”
Usman Buzdar made the announcement while addressing a ceremony held to distribute Allotment Certificates for providing modern agricultural machinery and equipment to the farmers at 90 Sahara-e-Quaid-e-Azam in Lahore. The chief minister also inspected the modern agricultural machinery and equipment provided to the farmers.

The September 9 gang-rape on Motorway shocked the country and poured widespread condemnation. After 33 days of the incident, the Punjab Police arrested the main accused Abid Malhi from Manga Mandi.
