A spokesman for the FBR on Wednesday said the deadline of submitting annual income tax returns would not be extended after October 15, reported 24News HD TV channel.  

The spokesman said the annual income tax returns should be submitted as soon as possible. After the deadline, a daily fine of Rs 1,000 and imprisonment for up to two years could be imposed, he said. 

Asad Tahri Jappa said that the FBR's online portal was working 24 hours a day. He said the efficiency of the IT system has been improved.
