The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has notified that an increase in the prices of essential items has been made, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
According to a notification, a Rs240 increase has been made in the price of 450-g tea, taking the official rate to Rs748 from Rs508.
The cost of a pack of 100 tea bags has been hiked to Rs580 and the price of 50-gram Peshawari qehwah has been surged to Rs 45, taking its cost to Rs153 from Rs 108, it added.
One kg of brand ghee and cooking oil prices have gone up Rs141, the notification said, adding that the price of mosquito repellent liquid has been hiked by Rs19 and the price of 250g honey has surged by Rs 38.
The rate of 135g toothpaste has been increased by Rs30 while the new price of milk is Rs217 per litre, it stated. Reportedly, the prices of baking powder, face cream, soap and shaving cream have also neem increased.
