The Federal Ministry for Parliamentary Affairs has proposed a 10 percent increase in the salaries of the parliamentarians, 24News HD TV channel reported on Monday.
According to the details, the ministry has prepared a summary of the proposal of increasing salaries of the parliamentarians and sent it to the federal cabinet for approval.
The sources said that the salaries of the parliamentarians would be increased in the head of ad-hoc relief allowance.
As per the details of the summary, the salaries of the chairman and deputy chairman of the Senate, and speaker and deputy speaker of the National Assembly would also be increased by the same percentage.
The sources said that the federal cabinet had included the summary of the proposal in the agenda list of the meeting going to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Imran Khan would chair the federal cabinet meeting and consider the proposal in detail.
The sources said the federal cabinet would take a decision in its tomorrow meeting and then the ministry would issue the notification of increased salaries.
