The journalists on Monday ended the sit-in against the Pakistan Media Development Authority (PMDA) bill staged in front of the Parliament Houses, Islamabad, reported 24News HD TV channel.
The Journalists from across the country stage sit-in outside Parliament House against PMDA. The protest continued during the joint session of the parliament.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and leaders of opposition parties participated in the sit-in of journalists in Islamabad.

A large number of lawyers, civil society, and the journalists’ representatives of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), National Press Club participated in the sit-in.
Talking on the occasion, senior journalist Hamid Mir said that today's sit-in had been successful. He said the government had failed as the press gallery had not been closed even during the dictatorship period. President National Press Club President Afzal Butt said that Imran Khan closed the press gallery and put a stigma on his forehead.
Senior journalist Saleem Safi said that the real governments did not ban the media. He said how this fake government could shut down the media?
Later, the sit-in ended. The PFUJ announced that it would announce its future course of action regarding the media ordinance later on.
