Pakistan women's football team Tuesday thumped the Maldives by 7-0 in their final group stage game of the SAFF Women’s Championship being played in Nepal and bagged their first-ever victory in eight years.
It was the last match of the Pakistan women’s campaign in the event after two heavy losses early ended their hopes to advance to the next stage.
Pakistan were beaten 3-0 by India and 6-0 by Bangladesh before they bounced back against the Maldives to register a thumping 7-0 win to end their campaign on a winning note. It was also
UK-based Pakistani player Nadia Khan scored four goals for the greens and became the first ever Pakistani to score four goals in an international match for women’s football. Rameen Fareed, Khadija Kazmi and Anmol Heera were other goal scorers.
Nadia became the first ever Pakistani to score four goals in the match and with this one single performance, she has joined Hajra Khan and Malika e Noor in the list of most international career goals by a Pakistani female player.
